Frequently asked

What does Research Radar do?

You add topics you want to follow — anything from "perovskite solar cell efficiency" to "OpenAI rumors." Research Radar runs AI-generated research summaries and X post summaries on a schedule you set (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly) and pushes a notification when a new summary is ready.

How does the credit system work?

Each topic update costs a small amount of credits — typically 800–2,000 — depending on how much research the AI does to summarize the topic. You buy credits in bundles from inside the app. There are no subscriptions and no recurring charges; credits don't expire.

Why didn't I get a notification?

A few common causes:

Can I run an update right now instead of waiting?

Yes. Open the topic and tap "Update now." The fresh summary is generated and shown immediately. Credits are deducted just like a scheduled update.

I bought credits but my balance didn't update.

The server is the source of truth for your credit balance. Pull-to-refresh on the topic list to re-sync. If the balance still doesn't reflect a purchase you completed, email android-support@slick-engineering.com with your purchase receipt or order ID and we'll reconcile it.

How do I get a refund?

For credits you haven't used yet, request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple handles the refund and our server is notified automatically; your credit balance will adjust to reflect the refund.

Will my topics sync across my iPhone and iPad?

Yes, as long as both devices are signed in to the same iCloud account. Research Radar uses your private CloudKit database for sync.

Can I delete all my data?

Yes. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email android-support@slick-engineering.com and we'll permanently delete all server-side data — your topics, summaries, and account — within 30 days. Uninstalling the app removes the local copy. (On iOS, iCloud data can also be removed via Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Research Radar.)

What iOS version do I need?

Research Radar requires iOS 18.5 or later.
