The short version: Research Radar stores your topic list and AI-generated summaries so you can read them later. We don't sell or share your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Research Radar is built and operated by Slick Engineering & Consulting, Inc. ("we," "us"). Contact: privacy@slick-engineering.com.
To make the app work, our server stores the following data associated with your iCloud account identifier:
The same topic data is also synced to your private iCloud database via CloudKit so it appears across your iOS devices. CloudKit data is end-to-end accessible only by you; we cannot read it.
Your topic list and summaries are used only to provide the app's functionality: running scheduled research updates, displaying results inside the app, and delivering push notifications. We do not use this data for marketing, sell it, or share it with third parties beyond the AI providers below.
To generate research and X post summaries, the topic text you enter is sent to:
We send the topic text alongside an instruction to summarize it; we do not send any user identifier to these providers.
Push notification delivery uses Apple Push Notification service (APNs) per Apple's standard terms.
In-app purchases use Apple StoreKit 2. We receive a signed transaction record from Apple but no payment-method details.
App server data lives on Cloudflare's edge infrastructure (Workers + D1). All connections to our server are HTTPS-only. Each request from the app is authenticated with a per-user token; the server only returns data belonging to the requesting user.
Topic data also lives in your iCloud private database, which only you can access via your Apple ID.
We retain your topics, summaries, credit balance, and purchase records as long as your account is active. If you want all server-side data deleted, email privacy@slick-engineering.com from your support contact and we'll remove it within 30 days. Deleting the app from your device also clears the local copy; CloudKit data stays in your iCloud and can be removed via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Research Radar.

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or request deletion, by emailing privacy@slick-engineering.com. EU and California residents may exercise additional rights under GDPR / CCPA respectively.
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after that date constitutes acceptance.
